Our day started with a delicious breakfast at Buttermilk Biscuit Bar, where we enjoyed some of the best biscuits in Sanford. If you haven't tried the PBT biscuit (pimento cheese, bacon, tomato, and fried green tomato), you're in for a treat. We recommend ordering ahead, as the biscuits take a little time to prepare. ⏳ It's worth the wait! The kids also loved their cinnamon rolls and bacon-cheese biscuits, making this stop the perfect way to fuel up before heading out for a busy day of exploring.
🍅 A Visit to the Sanford Farmers Market
After breakfast, we walked over to the Sanford Farmers Market, which had just opened for the season. There’s always something special about shopping at a local farmers market, and this one is no exception. From fresh fruits 🍓 and vegetables 🥕 to homemade goat cheese spread 🧀 and farm-fresh eggs 🥚, we stocked up on some local goodies for the week. The market also featured live music 🎶, adding to the vibrant, community atmosphere. We also grabbed some local meats—brisket, skirt steak, and ground beef—perfect for a taco night 🌮 later in the week.
👶 Shopping for Kids at Beach and Boone
Next, we headed over to Beach and Boone, a charming baby and kids' clothing store located in downtown Sanford. If you're looking for unique gifts 🎁 for new parents, this store is the place to go. They carry high-quality and adorable clothing, and our kids love the small play area 🧸. During this trip, we picked up a special gift for a colleague’s newborn, and Lincoln found a new pair of shoes 👟. It's a must-visit store for families and a great spot for finding something special.
🍫 PB Quicks and Big Bloomers Flower Farm 🌻
We also made a stop at PB Quicks for some refreshing chocolate shakes 🥤, a family favorite. We had planned to head to Big Bloomers Flower Farm afterward to pick up some flowers 🌸 and gardening items to brighten up our home for spring, but the 86-degree heat 🌞 made us rethink the idea. We’ll save that visit for another weekend when the weather is a bit more comfortable for strolling around the beautiful grounds.
