Being one of the best realtors in Sanford, NC means I am out and about all the time, trying new restaurants. Today, I want to share with you one of my absolute favorites and give you a few reasons why I rave about it so much.

Mrs. Lacy's Magnolia House is a charming Southern restaurant located at 405 Carthage St, Sanford, NC 27330. This cozy eatery has been a favorite among locals since it opened in 1995, thanks to its delicious food, welcoming atmosphere, and friendly service. From their famous chicken salad and strawberry shortcake to their tea parties and take-and-bake dinners, there's something for everyone at Mrs. Lacy's Magnolia House.

If you're in the Sanford area, be sure to check out this beloved restaurant. Visit their website at http://mrslacys.com/ to learn more about their menu and upcoming events.

    Here's why I love them:

    1. S-t-r-a-w-b-e-r-r-y S-h-o-r-t-c-a-k-e

Hands-down, the best strawberry shortcake I've ever had. It's got a gooey center and a crisp top with just the right amount of sugar in both the cake and the strawberries! You really have to try it.

    1. S-t-r-a-w-b-e-r-r-y S-h-o-r-t-c-a-k-e

Hands-down, the best strawberry shortcake I've ever had. It's got a gooey center and a crisp top with just the right amount of sugar in both the cake and the strawberries!

We get the shortcake in single servings to enjoy ourselves and we also grab full trays for our baby showers, birthday parties, etc.

I frequently tell people it's life changing, because it is. You really have to try it.

    2. The Chicken Salad

Whether you get the chicken salad by itself, on top of some greens, on a croissant or in their high roller wraps, you can't go wrong with it.

I love grabbing a tub to go on a hot day and eating it on top of some crackers or green tomatoes!

    3. The Stuffed Potatoes

Probably some of the biggest potatoes you've ever seen get cracked open and stuffed at Mrs. Lacy's. Normally I view a baked potato as a side item for a meal, but this thing can be a meal of it's own. It's huge and it's a huge favorite.

    4. The Outdoor Seating

This place is just down-right charming. It's an old home, converted into one of the most popular restaurants in Sanford and the front porch provides the perfect atmosphere for brunch or lunch when dining outside.

    5. The People & The Atmosphere

You'll most certainly be greeted with a big warm smile, maybe a hug and a welcoming atmosphere at Mrs. Lacy's Magnolia House. If you come often, it'll be first-name basis. Faye Schulz and many of her family members get their bright and early to bake cakes and they work in the restaurant on a daily basis. Even those that aren't related become family here and you can tell in the way they interact with people who visit the restaurant. If you come often enough, you'll probably feel like part of the family too.

    OUR FIRST EVER VIDEO

Faye also welcomed me into her restaurant for our first ever video. This was right about the time when restaurants were shutting down during COVID and we were trying to get our name out there as a newer real estate firm. She welcomed us with open arms and I cringe a little at the quality of this video and audio, but I am so glad I got the chance to shoot it and to meet her. Go check them out!
